The Pittsburgh Pirates are a Major League Baseball club based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They play in the Central Division of the National League, and are five-time World Series Champions. The Pirates are also sometimes referred to as the Bucs or Buccos.
Pittsburgh Steelers came into existance in 1933 when Art Rooney purchased an NFL franchise for $2,500. Over the next eight decades, the Pittsburgh Steelers have become a beloved part of the city, bringing so many great moments to the league and the Steel City.
Pittsburgh is known as the Steel City. During the World Wars, it produced more steel than the rest of the world taken together. During last few decades, it transitioned from an industrial town into a center of education, healthcare and information technology.
Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, Carlow University, Robert Morris University, and Duquesne University are a few of several universities in the city.
Canton Avenue, Pittsburgh With a gradient that tops out at 37 percent, Pittsburgh's Canton Avenue is the steepest street in the world.
